Purpose 

As COO, you will be the key member of the senior management team in contributing towards strategic direction through strong industry knowledge. It is vital to connect with stakeholders and partners at all levels, to collaborate effectively in driving operational excellence. 


The right candidate must be ready to build and model a great company culture, provide inspired 
leadership to our executive and management teams, establish a great working relationship with the CEO (and board of directors where applicable) and set a course for operationalising company strategy.

Job Function

Leadership, Span of Control:

  • As the CEO’s Deputy, representing him/her in meetings with internal and external stakeholders, as and when required as well as lead the day to day running of the business. 
  • Responsible for day-to-day performance of the business across key functions of the organization. 
  • These functions include:
  1. Sales & servicing of ASEAN distribution deals
  2. Singapore brokerage - client management;  policy administration and billing; claims operations; and helpdesk
  3. Outsourced regional shared services centers including Flexicare, Humanica, AIDA
  4. Implementation and Professional Services teams in different countries
  5. Engineering triage team
  6. Production control
  7. Product management will be dotted line to both the COO and Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
  • Work with operations leaders in our key markets to build a pipeline of operations professionals, and the associated learning programs, that will power the business going forward 
  • Build, develop and supervise high-performing operations/service delivery teams in our shared services centers to support our growth in geographically disparate teams to ensure client satisfaction and retention

Process and Performance:

  • Oversee the daily organisational performance across all functions in relation to organisational KPI’s and targets
  • Lead the creation of, and be accountable for, the delivery of the Group’s operational strategy and roadmap to facilitate the rapid build-out of CXA’s shared services center to support our brokerage and SAAS business across Asia. In partnership with CTO, ensure development and implementation of our operational strategy is in tandem with our IT and infrastructure strategic roadmap.
  • Provide technical expertise and business acumen to operational transformation projects that automates our back office and strengthens our delivery capability in the market place.
  • Improving the effectiveness and efficiency of CXA’s post-sales servicing, including re-designing scalable, repeatable processes that will support better customer service quality and response times, reporting, information flow, and operational excellence
  • Ensuring that CXA’s partners, including Howden, insurers/reinsurers, and health management providers, are appropriately integrated with CXA’s operations, leveraging technology and data feeds, where possible
  • Develop appropriate risk, compliance and governance procedures which balance business growth with risk management to comply with all audit and local legal regulations

Profile

  • Believe in CXA’s vision of transforming brokerage and enterprise SAAS operations through automation, and are capable of building the workflows and teams that will support this transformation
  • Have extraordinary people management, interpersonal and collaborative management skills and an ability to communicate across all levels and functions
  • Possess at least 10 years’ experience in operations and P&L management (ideally in brokerage and insurance) with a track record of operational transformation and process re-engineering to substantially improve customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Are experienced in building, coaching, and developing high-performance teams
  • Are highly flexible; you have shown that you can excel in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
  • Ideally have previous working experience in a fast-moving start-up
